Easy Sweet Summer Top

The Mother Huddle always puts out super cute tutorials, but I've never ventured to try them out because I've been afraid of screwing it up. Well, fears were confirmed, but it's all good. I made the Easy Sweet Summer Top for Miss P and her friend's 2nd birthday.

Recipe Review: Black Bean Tortilla Casserole

Here in Texas, we are very picky about Mexican food, but this little ditty from Cara's Cravings turned out to be another great vegetarian/vegan recipe.

It's hard to make a casserole look pretty in a photo.

I Heart Shamrocks, Rainbow Gold Baskets, & Play Date

Yes, I realize posting about this now doesn't help you at all since St. Patrick's Day was today, but just add it to your Pinterest board for ideas for next year.

I've already talked about the St. Patty's Tablescape, the Rainbow Felt Garland, and the Kiss Me I'm Irish Painting. Here are the other two decor projects I finished just in time for the big St. Patrick's Play Date at my house today from which I am extremely pooped.

The first is this I *heart* Shamrocks banner from My Computer Is My Canvas's Etsy shop.

The listing actually came with the entire alphabet and several different St. Patrick's Day themed clip art like a rainbow, leprechaun, etc. So the decorating possibilities are many with this listing.

Laundry Room Organization

Moving into a brand-new home has lots of cool perks, but there are some things that a new home is lacking - like shelving.

Here's one side of the laundry room before:
Across from the washer and dryer is a great little linen closet & a great, big empty random space.

Inside Out Lasagna (Sans Noodles)

Two years ago, my friend, Lisa, brought me one of the BEST and memorable post-baby dinners in all of history. (Let me take a moment to plug her beloved and very missed yoga studio, Surya Center for Yoga.) Back to food...

When I asked her for the recipe, this blissed out girl told me it was a secret family recipe, which I thought was totally cool. We have lots of family secrets but no secret recipe. Although I respected her secret, that didn't stop me from scouring the Internet every so often to try to find this dish that haunted both my husband and I for 2 whole years! (Even my mom, who was there the day Lisa brought it over, asks me every now and then if I ever did get that recipe.)

Felt Rainbow Garland

This was the easiest thing ever! If you have access to a sewing machine, you CAN do this one. I used Sweet Little Smoothie's  tutorial and didn't change a thing except add a few more colors. Here is it:

St. Patrick's Day Tablescape

I realize most people don't decorate too much for this tiny little holiday, but it actually has great significance in not on the Irish culture but the Christian culture, as well. Read more about it here and here. Pretty interesting if all you thought St. Pat's Day was about is drinking and pretending to be Irish! :)

Anyway, today I'm showing off my dining room table. (I'm prepping for a big St. Patrick's Day play date next week...Yikes!) Anyway, I totally stole A Girl & A Glue Gun's idea for making a table runner using the ruffle fabric.

St. Patrick's Day Ruffle Dress

Have you heard of Ruffle Fabric? I've seen dresses, skirts, and home decor made from this product, and I was instantly intrigued! I love ruffles but despise making them. So, with the money I made from selling a Kiss Me I'm Irish painting, I bought a yard of their "Lucky" Bright Green Striped Cascading Ruffle Fabric. (It's pricey at $17/yard.) And here was my first project:

Patchwork Scarves

I wanted to use up the rest of my Patricia Bravo Botanica fat quarters for the Spring was over. So I did it all at once on pieced scarves inspired by Oh So Happy Together's post.
