Thought I'd share what Miss P wore for Valentine's Day this year. I made it the exact same way the tutorial suggested on Craftiness Is Not Optional blog. It was so easy and would make a nice first sewing project.

For the shirt, instead of doing the braided thing her blog suggested, I just ruffled three 2"ish pieces of scrap fabric.
My appliqué skills leave a lot to be desired. I'm used to my machine doing the work. :)
And here's my precious girl sporting her new outfit. She's so proud when Mama makes her a new skirt.
